Where traditional worship & progressive Christianity meet
At the Chapel you'll find open minds, friendly people and no pressure. St. Bede's is conveniently located in Coral Gables on the UM campus. Parking is just to the right of the Chapel and always free on Sundays and weekdays after 5:00 pm.
The Chapel of St. Bede the Venerable is a college chapel located on the campus of the University of Miami. Besides students, faculty, and others from the University of Miami community, people from the local community also worship here. Hence our Chapel has a dual identity: we are both a campus ministry as well as a chapel that functions much like a small parish church. For fuller information about our campus ministry, please visit our other web site at www.umchapel.org. In this site you will find more information about the life of our local congregation.
The Chapel is a place where progressive Christianity and traditional worship meet. We strive to be an open and inclusive community. We are an Episcopal church, a part of the Diocese of Southeast Florida. However, you do not have to be Episcopalian (or "Anglican," as we are known in other countries) to worship here. Our worship is fairly standard Episcopal fare: if you're not Episcopalian you might find our worship to be somewhat formal; if you are Episcopalian you might find us to be rather laid back.
If you are new to the area or are searching for a church home for any reason, we hope you will come and visit us. The only way to know whether or not our chapel is the right church for you is to give us a try!
